Opening Ceremony Looks

Ralph Lauren, the signature outfitter of the United States Olympic Team, has unveiled the ever so patriotic look the athletes will sport to commence competition.  Here is the promotional team shot:

And here is a close up of the sweaters:

I like the sweater for its purpose: representing American patriotism and providing warmth.  As a style piece... not a fan.  I am not sure which side I like more, I am leaning towards the back.  But I think all the athletes in the promo shot look adorable.  I guess its something only Olympians can pull off.

Here are some fun facts about Ralph Lauren's pieces for Team USA:
-All garments are American made
-The Today show reported that, "the wool hails from Oregon, was spun in Pennsylvania, then yarned in North Carolina, before being knitted in California by the husband-and-wife team Ball of Cotton."
-All pieces are available to be purchased by the public
-100% of proceeds from Opening Ceremony's cardigan ($595) will go to the U.S. Olympic Committee

Other pieces from RL's Olympic collection include:
Fleece Pullover - $165

Crewneck Flag Sweater - $295 (Womens & Mens)

Ceremony Peacoat - $795
The peacoat is my favorite, it is such a classic.

You can check out all of the looks Ralph Lauren created for Team USA here.  In a matter of weeks you will be able to see our athletes wearing these styles in Sochi, Russia!
