Lilly Pulitzer Corporate has major sales three times a year. There are two online sales, and one warehouse sale. The online sales are clear out old merchandise from the previous season. They are named the "Endless Summer Sale", in early August, and the "New Year Cheer Sale", in early January. Lilly Pulitzer also hosts an annual warehouse sale in Pennsylvania, near their headquarters, in June.
I have never shopped the warehouse sale but, after some research (check out this article too), I have concluded that you don't need to shop both the Warehouse Sale and the Endless Summer Sale. The deals are typically better online, because that merchandise is leftover from the Warehouse Sale and needs to go. However if you can make it down to PA, you will find "sample" products never put into mass production, therefore are one of a kind.
I first shopped an online sale in August 2013, and I snapped up a couple of dresses to jump start my Lilly collection. These were dresses from their Spring/Summer/Resort collections of that year. The unfortunate drawback from living in New England and shopping this sale, is that by the time your dresses come in (and it may take almost three weeks due to "high volume"), it is too cold to wear the knee length and sleeveless garments. But that just keeps me excited to get through the cold weather!

The deals you will score shopping online are phenomenal. Dresses, that were just sold a month or two ago will be marked down $100 or 50% off. Phone cases, Murfee Scarfs and other accessories are priced to move. Murfees carry a hefty price tag of $118, but the will be marked down to $59-$39. Depending on the style, even $24 (I couldn't resist that deal!) The New Year Cheer Sale also included styles and prints leftover from the summer sale, and retired prints from last winter.
The best part of the entire sale: FREE SHIPPING! Paying for shipping is one of my biggest pet peeves. I just made a purchase from Khol's and had "Khol's Cash" and a coupon so my original price blazer of $70 was only $4.25. Great deal right? Except shipping was $6.75... What a vibe killer. But Lilly Pulitzer rewards its patient customers with free shipping.
The worst part of the entire sale: In my opinions there are two drawbacks. One, problems with the server. While the Pink Palace may have intentions of starting the sale at 8am, with millions of Lilly lovers logging on at the exact same time, the website always crashes. Be prepared for delays and frustrations. Secondly, sizes go quickly. Sometimes faster than "quickly". Because there is free shipping on all orders, I recommend cashing out separately with each item you have. For example if you find a dress you want in your size, cash out ASAP, then go back and continue shopping. Today, I cashed out in two separate transactions, and I still lost a item... The price you will pay for Lilly.
Bottom Line: Never buy Lilly Pulitzer full price. The deals you will score on these sales make it well worth the wait. As with any sale, stick to a budget, because you will get sucked into the deals and steals. Also be practical. While those brightly printed shorts look great on that model, who is in a Lilly Pulitzer solid tee, you are never going to find a top that matches or is cohesive with those colors. Opt for a dress, or for shorts that will look good with white, black, or navy tops.
