NYFW Wrap Up

NY Fashion Week is over and now begins London Fashion Week.  NYFW was filled with beautiful textures, an emergence of color and wearable silhouettes.  I was pleasantly surprised by all the light pink that was scattered throughout many of designers collections.  Other big colors include hues of blue like cobalt (specifically Thakoon), teal, and an icy blue.  Muted pastels were made popular by Ralph Lauren.  Also apparent were jewel tones like ruby and emerald, I'm talking Jason Wu, Marchesa and Oscar de la Renta.

My favorite show had to be Jenny Packham's. I am a total sucker for evening wear, and she does it impeccably.  She makes clothes that make a woman's body beautiful, classy and glamourous.  Here are my favorite luxe looks:

Almay's Newest Face

I am beyond excited to share this news with you.  After closing out her sell-out Blown Away Tour, Carrie Underwood was busy preparing for the Sound of Music and had yet to release news on her latest project.  I was hoping she would start writing for a fifth album.  Instead, Carrie recently (a half hour ago...) announced that she is the latest Global Brand Ambassador for Almay Cosmetics! She joins the iconic Kate Hudson as the brand's second ambassador.

Late Night Parody

I've taken a little break from the blogosphere the past few days in order to get in some quality family time.  I have returned to the blog with a short video clip from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.  It features Rashida Jones and my favorite, Carrie Underwood who parodies Miley Cyrus's AMA performance with the infamous... cat... and changes the lyrics from hit songs to have some holiday flair...

Carrie on Broadway

Carrie Underwood is hitting the Broadway stage in December, as Maria von Trapp in the Sound of Music.

Being one of the biggest Carrie Underwood fans ever, I am completely excited to see her take on this new journey.  Here is newly release clip of her and co-star Audra MacDonald singing My Favorite Things, scroll down to the bottom to hear.
